Rohit does a great job of weighing the pros and conss of getting an MBA. Overall, I think he's right – because of the vast pool of knowledge that is now available on the internet and social networking diminishing the need for parlaying your classmates into long-term contacts, an MBA is less important. But I still see a couple reasons for someone to pursue an MBA: 1) Hiring managers who DO have an MBA are going to think more highly of a candidate who also has one. 2)An MBA is going to force you to learn about subjects that aren't in your wheelhouse, which will round out your skill set.
