The Rules of Sampling:

1. If a dude in a speedo is anywhere within 50 yards, then you need to find a new venue.
2. If you subject your ambassadors to involuntary arm pit smelling, you need to reassess your sampling practices.
3. No, it is not as simple as “just getting product in people’s hands.”

BOTTOM LINE: If you’re just passing out samples in venues where your target market hangs and not engaging in conversation, you’re wasting your time.

And one more thing: if you are a client that hires agencies to do stuff like this, you should also hire people to pick up all of the trash you create.
